Current focus: single-dose breast radiotherapy protocols

Radiotherapy is usually delivered as a course of treatment divided into many sessions, called fractions, given over days or weeks. Single-dose, or single-fraction, radiotherapy delivers the planned course of radiation in one session instead.

Delivering treatment in a single session requires careful planning, imaging, and delivery so that the intended target receives the planned dose while surrounding tissue is spared as much as possible. Research protocols in this area define how patients are selected, how the treatment is planned and delivered, and how patients are followed afterward.

Our current work focuses on protocols for single-dose radiotherapy of the breast.
